This is actually half a fleece taken from my two year old Leicester longwool ewe, evie. The fleece has a long staple, with a lovely wave and cleans up easily to give a beautiful shiny fibre which needle felts well, takes a dye and spins to a lovely yarn with a gorgeous lustre.

some large bits in the ends of the locks. I have tried to get out most of them, and there is very little within the fleece - it is mainly bits stuck to the outside.
Notes
I have removed all of the muck, but it might appear still to be dirty where there is a lot of lanolin secretion around the armpits - this washes out really easily, and the locks tease or card out easily, though I do always wash before spinning. Evie is an adventurous sheep and does shove herself into hedges, so much of the neck area has been removed as it was very full of twigs and tangles. There are some faint raddle marks at the rear end, but again, this washes out. I have included a photograph of a small piece that was removed as part of the skirting - it looked really filthy, but a couple of hours with a handwash liquid has brought it up lovely and bright!
