This fleece is quite dirty - It has been on Evie for a year, and she lies in mud and invades hedges! It does take quite a bit of preparation, however the mud does wash out, and the locks will tease out to give an amazingly fine and lustrous fibre, which is a dream to spin once scoured and carded. It takes a dye easily so you can use it as whole locks for weaving, or felting. What looks like a completely felted lock teases out to lovely fine fibre. I am not sure how many grey fibres there are, but it appears to be mostly white. (This is her first shear). An excellent way to start if you fancy trying a longwool, and the Leicester is the softest and finest I have tried!
