Ryeland wool is lovely and soft - it washes to a creamy white, and the crimp means that when spun it gives a bouncy yarn.

V.M.
There is some VM, I have tried to remove all the bits around the neck where the tiny ingrained bits of hay accumulate - the bits that are left are bigger bits because he didn't want to stay on the board when I was shearing him!
Notes
The raw wool can look disappointingly grey, but once washed is lovely and bright. Ryeland wool is very fine, which means that it spins to a lightweight bouncy yarn, a lot less dense than some fibres. The timing of fly treatment was intended to be safe when the sheep are sheared.
